Young Animator Training Project 2010: Ojii-san no Lamp - Special
Tatsunosuke is an orphan child who does several odd jobs in his village in order to earn a living. When running one of these odd jobs, he gets the chance to visit the city, and there he witnesses one of the products of Japan's modernization, the lamp, in action. He sees it as a business opportunity and manages to take one home, which he promptly sells and even takes orders for. Soon he establishes a small business as a lamp seller, and marries his childhood sweetheart Setsu, but just when all was going fine and he formed a lovely family which he had to look after, modernization takes a step further, and electricity-powered light threatens to sweep him away from business. Faced with the risk of losing the income that feeds his wife and children, Tatsunosuke was forced into a corner which would become his greatest obstacle to date.
